3 weeks in, I've piled on the miles and I wanted the oil to be freshened.
My local dealer (the one closest to me) only just got their first ST this week and it's in their showroom.
When I called to schedule the appointment earlier this week, the service writer seemed surprised and actually asked me if I was "sure" I actually had an ST. I impressed upon him that I knew well what car I had bought and he let it go.
I showed up this morning and requested an oil change and general look over. Everyone was nice, it's a dealership I know well. I also reported a problem with the right rear tire. Pressure light came on Monday evening and I have had to add air three times since then. Clearly, I had a problem.
Less than two hours later, I got the call that the car was ready.
I got there at 5:30 and paid for the oil change and was advised they were able to plug my right rear tire.
The foreign object was in the center of the tread and the damage was suitable for a plug. I've never liked plugs, but I'll reserve judgment for a bit and with modern techniques, the repair, if they hold in the first few days, are pretty much as good as can be.
$70 bucks for an oil change and tire repair. I guess I can't complain.
Back home with three filthy wheels and one littered with hand and finger prints.
I'll be cleaning it well tomorrow.
And, they actually saved the foreign object pulled from my tire.
It doesn't look familiar.
And, the PumKing is my pre-dinner beverage.
The good part of the story is that the service department had parked by filthy red ST in front of the showroom where their white ST was sitting.
A salesman came out when I got in my car and told me they could have sold my car twice today. He had the standard questions about where I got it, how I got it so quickly and basically I was surprised at how little he seemed to know about the cars and their availability. Just because his dealership hadn't gotten one doesn't mean they aren't out there. I could have bought as much as 6 weeks ago. He was shocked. Made me kind of continue to worry for our future when car salesmen can be so empty when it comes to knowledge about what they are selling.
Ok, back to the PumKing.
