Hey everyone, so I bought a brand new 2014 race red Fiesta ST and have bad nothing but problems since purchasing it last week. The factory didn't finish my door handle so it came pink. The dealer attempted to paint it but it looked horrible. They then transplanted a doorhandle from an SE sedan to my brand new car. Now the driver's seat squeaks and,groans. It sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic. I have an appointment with another dealer to see if they can find the problem but it,comes and,goes so I am afraid they won't be able to reproduce the issue. Have any of you noticed these issues? I am otherwise very happy with my purchase except I feel quality is lacking foe a car this size priced at a whopping 22,000 for a subcompact. I feel that by moving production to Mexico Ford is compromising on quality. Whatever happened to good American Fords like my old 1993 tempo that ran for 375000 miles before the fuel lines rusted?

anyone else share this view or have bad any issues with their new ST? I just can't believe it is a brand new car and I've had it in the dealership. Going on 4 times already!

Sorry to hear about your troubles .. And I had a Ford Tempo about that vintage got almost 6 months use out of it before dealer took it back cuz it was a lemon and stalled all the time... so its a mixed bag with all cars

At least you have a car to be disappointed in me i'm just disappointed in Ford as i've been waiting since march for mine.... and still no word if it shipped its been built since 9/12

Sorry to hear that STfan. I've only had mine 2 days but so far no issues (knock on wood). Any pics of the pink doorhandle? Never even heard of that happening...

Mine had an issue and it was a loose cable don't know how it passed quality control.

Could you please tell me more? Was the loose cable a handbrake and it caused the squeaking noise?

Loose cable caused the wrench light and cruise control didn't work.

You've got to be kidding me! How the heck did that pass Quality Control inspection?

If I was you I wouldn't have accepted the car on delivery day with a handle like the. Whoever did the pre delivery inspection at the dealership should be fired on the spot. Did they think you wouldn't notice a pink handle?

I haven't had any issues. Even after quite a few mods. Only thing I have is a windows that rattles a bit after I've opened or closed it. After a few minutes it stops rattling. No clue what it is but I'm not about to pull the door apart to find what it is!

Ok, here is what my car has since new:

Pass side front outside door handle doesn't always return after being pulled
Driver side mirror vibrates at speed, making things blurry
Left weather strip that runs along side the windshield just came off. it was supposed to be taped to the side of the a-pillar but it was barely attached.
Front pass door panel is mounted 1/2 inch off toward the front.

Another ST I saw recently:
looks like a rust bubble UNDER THE PAINT on the roof
driver side mirror glass mounted 1/4" too low...

What's up with the lack of QC at the factory? Gotta say, VW's and BMW's that are my usual are real pain when they get older, but Quality Control (even from VW's Puebla, Mexico factory) is on a whole different level. I've heard of issues, but not something on every single car!

So it is a rust bubble? Damn i knew it. Im gonna wait till my next oil change to have them inspect it cause I have no time right now.

Stunt, it could be primer bubble under the paint also, but looks just like rust.. no big deal either way, easily fixed since it's right on the flat panel of the roof.. more annoying to have these problems than anything.. NEW car.. Reminds me of growing up in Soviet Union.. people waiting in line for 6 years to buy a LADA, then getting your car with an engine you didn't order, wrong color, painted right over rust, in need of an engine rebuild...
