Leaky shock replaced with Koni STR.T

Having mis-diagnosed a puddle of oil (30mm or fifty cent piece diameter) as a lawnmower spill just before a long road trip, my warranty expired back in 2021. Repeated weeks of dormancy would result in the more leaks. I wondered just how long I would wait to find a dead shock, but after four more years it was still working. I was disappointed to find Bilstein B4 had been unobtainable for a long time, and I didn't really want a full upgrade (and some question if the B6 would raise the ride height.) I found Koni STR.T at Tire Rack for $100 each ($139 for Sport, which I have with Eibach springs on my Focus,) and replaced the rears only, finding FoMoCo were the original shocks. These street Konis felt very soft as I primed them by hand, but might have better rebound. Happy to have that leak resolved while making a cheap fix that is compatible with the stock struts. Oh, Ford, that Focus has a defective Key in Ignition alarm (also realized just as warranty expired) and my Contour SVT came with A/C DOA and then compressor wiring failed when hot, as well as a fuel pump that started going bad after one track session. Still, I wish you could buy a new one in the $18.5-$21k range.
