Wrench light comes on with dinging and announcement of "hill start assist not available". Toggling Hill start on/off does nothing as car indicates hill start is not available, restarting car clears issue for somewhat random amount of time.

I have just had new brake pads installed, and a full service done (including winter tires on OEM wheels). Doing the 'reset' procedure of holding brake/gas on aux mode does nothing. Wrench clears on car restart, and comes on again seemly at random.

I've seen forum threads mention the brake switch as a possible culprit, or potentially an issue with brake pad installation by the shop? Car feels fine, other than brake pads needing some breaking in.

Dropping back in here incase future owners run into this thread via Google.

The culprit is the blue cruise control switch, (not black brake switch) toggled by the brake pedal. Try resetting it first by taking it out and adjusting.

Also, I really hope this forum has a use other than helping out new owners.
