Here at EBC Brakes, We do like a private (Cherished) registration and have a number of them on company vehicles and also staff cars and bikes.

There have been a couple of memorable ones over the years, MAG 1C (Paul Daniels) and COM 1C (Jimmy Tarbuck) and the BO55 prefix seems to be popular nowadays, followed by company initials.

What is the best one you have owned or seen, and do you have photos?

Our Ultimate Fiesta Build has a private registration, F17 EBC, although this is to be taken off before the competition closes (EBC Brakes – Ultimate Fiesta Build - EBC Brakes ) and will be added to one of our other vehicles.

It's funny you have to bid for a custom registration plate in the UK and other countries. In China the number 8 is coveted because of its resemblance to the Chinese character for "luck" so bidding on plates like 888 can reach up to the millions and is showed off as a sign of opulence.

Where I live, a "vanity plate" as their called, is only a $20 additional charge when you register your vehicle. You can customize it with numbers and letters as long as someone hasn't registered it already.

The prices do get crazy, $20 sounds like a bargain.
