Hey all, I'm Chris. My '14 Fiesta ST in Performance Blue is Spike. He replaced the '05 Acura TL I had for almost a year; I didn't like that boat very much at all and had to go back to something smaller/nimbler/fun. Spike is used for my daily commute and some spirited driving. I have a '06 S2000 that I autocross with and use as a weekend cruise car. Anyways, car was driven from Laredo, TX to San Antonio, TX between dealerships so I started my journey with 210 miles on the clock. What a freaking fun car!

Plans
-------------
Remove Pin Stripes (done, 2/25/2014)
Hardwire Valentine 1
Add Homelink (rearview mirror)
Install Kahtec Brake Light Blinker-System
Install Clear Bra
Install Tint
Install Hitch
Wait for RallyArmor or Rokblokz to make mud flaps to purchase
Install Cobb AP
See if it's possible to install back-up camera

February 11, 2014 - Day after purchase

So I changed the oil this past weekend at 1267 miles with Mobil 1 5w-20 and a Motorcraft FL-910S filter. Even using a filter wrench and a breaker bar it was starting to crush the filter; I had to just use constant pressure w/o the breaker bar to get it loose. I rotated the pinch-clamp on the hose close to the filter so I wouldn't mar my hand (thanks to the forum for that tip).

I had a lot of difficulty getting the OEM oil filter off. That SOB is on there GOOD! I gave up and made Jiffy Lube take it off for me, since standing on a platform below the car they can actually leverage that bastard off. I brought my own full syn oil and motorcraft filter, naturally. Now just waiting for 7500 for the first "official" oil change.

lol @ BFH. I keep that around to help nudge a few bolts loose if needed. I think I tapped the ratchet slightly at the end to help loosen the oil drain plug; or maybe I used the palm of my hand, I forgot...

Its not like your going to re-use the oil filter. I always punched a screw driver through it to get extra leverage on it. Not sure how much room you have under this car though.

I picked up some cheap 194 bulb LEDs to try out. $10 for 10. The last photo shows the offness of quality control.

Both LEDs installed. The left light is a bit more white compared to the slightly blue'ish one on the right.

Those LED's actually look really good for being so cheap. I think Im going to pick some up. Any install issues with them?

Yeah, I didn't think they were all that bad. My only tip is to check the polarity before installing the light back into its spot. If you don't have it in the socket the correct way then it won't turn on. I installed the light and opened the hatch to check to see if they turned on before plugging the housing back into the hatch.

Here are the Curt hitch photos from this past weekend. I'm running into the same issue as everyone else in the Hitch thread (link below) where the exhaust hits the hitch while driving during a turn. I haven't ran the hitch setup with the stock hanger yet, I borrowed a friend's spare KartBoy XL 12mm and 15mm hangers. The XL hanger is 20mm longer than the stock hanger and is made out of polyurethane. I have no issues over speedbumps but taking corners at T-intersections or highway interchanges (if my speed is high enough) I'll hear the exhaust bump the hitch on right-hand turns; it's okay on left-hand turns though. Before adjusting it, it was opposite (hitting on left-hand turns vs right-hand).

Hitch Thread: http://www.fiestast.org/forum/fiesta-st-discussions/480-any-hitch-luck-yet-6.html

End Result...

Difference between stock hanger (red) and Kartboy hanger (black). Even after a slight adjustment the exhaust still hits the hitch. I'm probably going to have an exhaust shop add in a universal bolt-on hanger to help in that regard.

You're good given that blurry photo, lol! Oh wait, it's in the oil change photo too, hehe. It's actually a friend's bike that we're storing for him; it's a sweet piece of engineering.

LOL, man that is a fantastic bike! I been lusting after an RSV4 since they came out, but realized the Tuono would be the more sensible choice! Already have the deposit down, I am picking mine up next week, a leftover 2013 model ;)

But now the wife is making me get rid of one of my other motorcycles.......can't have it all :(
