Hey guys I have a question for all ST owners. When you push the clutch and shift in to any gear, can you hear something making noises in the front of the car? As in the shifter cables and such? And has you clutch engage changed since brand new? This is my first manual car but ive never experienced any of these noises in the manuals I have driven before. Also when moving at hight revs lets say 4k and release the throttle I can also hear noises like clicks like if something was looose. Any idea? Is all this normal?

I hear the same noises and have the same questions. I don't remember my folks' Miata making these sorts of noises during shifting.

You might be hearing the synchros moving, but there shouldnt be grinding noises.

It's not so much a grind as...an engagement, I guess. A soft clunk.

I only hear it if I'm driving & shifting slowly. Sounds normal to me.
To get rid of the noise, just press the gas pedal closer to the floor!
