Inspired by some of the other what did you do posting in some of the VWVortex forums, I thought It would be cool to have one those posting here. I know it might not be too early for any type of work done to our cars, but who knows, maybe some people like to get their hands dirty or want to show off some new wheels or fixed something minor, hopefully nothing breaks this early. Hopefully this topic stays around.

Rear done. Front is sitting too high so gonna lower it tomorrow. Bit worried about the sway bar end links as lowering it make make the links too long.. and no abs sensor mounts.. anyone else came across this problem?

It's been almost 9 years since I started this thread, this was from last month, at a little over 160k currently. I finished up my remote install to my amp earlier today, just a small 8" subwoofer. I'll have to gets pics later.

Installed the high pressure fuel pump cam bucket today.. I hardly notice any difference at all to be honest.. NOTHING. The wear was ZERO in my opinion. No need for a straight edge. Just the color change. It's been heat treated anyway. And I do engine oil and filter change every 5k kilometers.. I don't recommend anyone even bother. I have done 117000km.

Door latch replacement
Campaign #
20R01

my passenger front door came open while driving on the highway at night. all my cabin lights came on, there was significant wind noise, and the door chime kept going on. I exited the highway and pulled into a gas station to figure out what was wrong, the front right door was unlatched (but still on the safety catch). so i dug up the letter i got in the mail from 2020 about the issue and brought it to the dealer. took more than a day due to parts ordering. haven't inspect their work yet, but so far open and closing and locking all 4 doors is quieter than a mouse fart.

Did they still do it free of charge? Haven't had this issue yet, but my front passenger door does make an odd sound when I close it.

Even if you do not experience any issues, they will perform the specified recall work free of charge as a "customer satisfaction" mandate. It is a scary feeling if your door does open, knowing that the safety catch is the only thing keeping the door secure. However, I am pretty unsatisfied with how i got the car back from Ted Britt Ford. there is a rattling in one of the doors, like they dropped a screw, a trim piece was broken on another door, and the handle in the door card wasn't snapped on all the way.

Sounds like they worked on all of your doors, but I thought only the front passenger door had an issue. If I decide to do it, I might ask them only to fix that door. My other doors seem to be fine except maybe the rear hatch which has on occasion (but rarely and not recently) caused the door light to stay on even though it was completely closed. Although, I may reconsider doing it all after what you just said.

For me, it's been 7.5 years now with 160k+ miles and original engine and transmission...even the original clutch.

Per recall notice, the parts and labor is for all 4 driver/passenger doors. The hatch is not part of the recall. They'll have your car for the good chunk of the day if not longer, you might as well have all 4 doors done for peace of mind. Hopefully the techs at your dealership are more competent
