hey Pete, you're missing a bit of important information..
it all depends on the width of the wheel and offset.

for comparison, I have a 17x7.5 wheel with a +40 offset. with this wheel, the widest tire I was able to fit without rubbing was a 205/45 tire

A. How low?
B. What wheel diameter
C. Are you willing to modify fenders & rock/splash guards?

Those are all considerations...

Mild drop (>1") you can fit a 17x8 with a 215/40 without modification

No drop on oe wheels can accommodate 215/45r17

Someone is running coilovers with 17x8.5 but only 205/40 pulled and rolled fenders.

Raamaudio is coilovered with 15x9 with 225 tires...

Lot of options depending on what you want to do/accomplish

I am on Mountune springs and stock wheels. From what I can find 215 is the widest I can go and 45 is to tall.

I'm running stock wheels and tyres at the moment with H & R lowering springs. Going with H & R coilovers on Wed, so may just fit spacers to bring the wheels out a bit. Don't want to go with a higher profile (can't) so will probably stay with stock. Thanks for all the info.

 

you should be good with fitting a 215 or 225 tire on the stock wheel. same height. it'll all depend on how far out you push the wheels.

wheels +40 offset. 205/45/17. stock height and I think I'm rubbing on hard dips... ever so slightly. haven't confirmed. I can't find any marks on my tire's or inner fender yet...
